Medical Acupuncture – 60 minutes

Acupuncture affects the energy flow in your body through needle pricks. There are several thousand acupuncture points on the body and each point has its own special function.

Acupuncture is often used as the only form of treatment, but it can also be combined with, for example, cupping therapy and/or moxa treatment. All medical acupuncture treatment first requires a previous diagnosis made by our TCM doctor. In this way, you also have an initial contact with the doctor, which is important for both patient and doctor.

First visit for acupuncture with Master Marcus

Just like in Western medicine, you first need to get a diagnosis to ensure treatment. Read more about the diagnosis here >

How is an acupuncture treatment performed?

With the help of stitches at various points in the meridian system, the status of energy can be affected, regulated and strengthen the body. Energy is regulated and controlled with the aim of achieving balance and thereby influencing health. Most often, you get needles stuck in several different places on the body and, as a rule, you feel very little or almost nothing when they are inserted into the skin. The disposable needles used are stainless, thin, and sterile. After that, you will be changed so that it feels warm and comfortable to be able to relax as much as possible.

After acupuncture

You may feel both tired and energetic after receiving acupuncture. Drink a glass of water or tea after your treatment. Try to rest for a while after the treatment and don't rush away. In some cases, the treatment can sometimes cause small bruises where the needles have been, it is completely harmless and disappears by itself after a few days. Some people experience increased pain after the treatment, but this usually goes away after a day or a few. You will find more info under the Chinese Health Center tab.
